Lead Times and Production Capacity

Panama hats- For all hats which are not available from stock, we require up to 12 weeks until delivery.

We recommend that you place your order as far in advance as you are able to do so. We do keep stock of many classic styles of panama hats (Fedora brisa and llano grade 2 and 8, Colonial, Planter) and can dispatch orders from stock if we have availability. However, the earlier you place your order, the more likely you are to receive your order in full. We recommend ordering by the end of February if possible to be sure that you will receive your order in full, particularly if ordering large quantities or styles which are not classic options.

When limited stock is available, priority will be given to customers who have placed orders earliest in the year.

We reserve the right to cancel the production of individual items/colours if insufficient quantity of orders are receive to meet our production requirements. Our busiest period also coincides with the rainy season in Ecuador, a difficult time to dry hats, and occasional delays are inevitable.

Production is also dependent upon the grade and weave of the panama hat. In general, we can supply grade 2 panamas in large quantities within a relatively short period. For grade 8 panamas we can produce 300 per month.

Felt hats - For all hats which are not available from stock, we can generally supply in 45 days. The only exception is the felt cloche which may sometimes take longer as the hoods are especially dyed to our requirements.

Alpaca - Orders for alpaca must be received by the cut off date to ensure an early Autumn delivery.

Stock

We can supply some orders from stock during the summer but, as our hats are increasingly in demand, it is highly recommended that you order as far in advance as possible to ensure delivery.

Product Specifications

Product specifications should be taken only as a general description. Products may vary within reasonable margins with regard to size and colour. Whilst we make every effort to supply stock of standard specification,
